INTRO: How does one go about trying to identify a song? Just use Shazam right? This is what YouTuber Stauwehr did (or tried to do) in 2015 when digitizing his old radio recordings he recorded off Swiss radio DRS 3, specifically the 'CH Special' radio show (sometimes others, we don't know specifically), the radio show which plays music from local and upcoming Swiss bands. Stauwehr primarily recorded off this special onto cassette tapes. BACKSTORY:
Fast foward to September 2nd, 2015, and Stauwehr
uploads THIS VIDEO
to YouTube, hoping to identify the songs on his tape (or tapes?) (I
theorize that in the time frame of 2013-2018, Stauwehr had another lost
songs video, but it WAS solved and mentioned in a Stauwehr blogpost. Which
was this song:

cold-wave tune, is a song by Club de Rome called 'Hypnotised'. The second
song, is from post-punk band The Indian Feast and its called Loneliest
Person. Which is then followed by the most popular one, 'Complex' by synth-wave
band HET and followed by the 2nd most popular, 'State Of Stress' by
Parkin'sons - this band will later drain my wallet :-) A few days later,
on September 6th, 2015 he uploads
another video
now with some new snippets, Damenwahl (which as of writing this, remains
unidentified), 'La Fille Aux Téléscopies'
by Nova Express, 'Elefant Mo' by Brilliantes and 'Holocaust Ride' by The
Valets. But these were later unlisted, it is unknown for how long. But
take note: these songs seemed to be still unknown until Stauwehr
uploaded the video 'unknown Postpunk & wave from Switzerland' on May 31st,
2020.

There are some songs still remaining to be solved.
For example, Damenwahl, Unterm Rad, Carnival, No More Feeling, Rock
Instrumental, Damenwahl, Track ID Anyone? . Some more lost songs
would be uploaded on October 2nd, 2022 in videos called "more unknown
snippets + Radio DRS3 90ies galore" and "unknown Radio snippets again..."
All of these videos could be found in the section "Stauwehr's lost song
video links" on this page. When I first got into this search in August of
2024 I was dumbfounded. I had randomly clicked this video I thought looked
interesting. I have never even heard about what 'Lostwave' was until I
heard these songs. I have heard TMMS back then in 2021, but I just thought
it was probably fake or something... I don't know but I loved these songs.
Little did I know, clicking on that one video would literally change the
course of my life. I would meet new friends in my search worldwide, meet
and talk to new people, re-open new memories and help someone out in the
process. This website documents this, our journey so far and its road
